  Healthcare revolutions and sugar wars

A warm welcome to 2017 from us all at ANH-Intl. Everything that’s happened during the last few months would suggest 2017 is going to be a huge year of change. Along with big political shifts come opportunities to change parts of the system that have resisted change up until now because of cronyism and a desire to maintain the status quo, that rarely acts in the best interests of the public.

As the year progresses, you will discover the extent to which we are working for fundamental change in healthcare – and particularly our ability to manage our health through natural means. It’s not rocket science: there is undisputable evidence that drug-free, natural approaches represent the most powerful medicines we have. Yet governments continue to put up roadblocks to our access to the best natural healthcare products and services available. These roadblocks have been among the most severe in the EU and the example of the UK in its bid to distance itself from EU laws provides a huge opportunity to develop a healthcare and associated regulatory system that works genuinely in the interests of the people.

We have to dismantle the roadblocks and, as it becomes ever clearer that the mainstream medicinal system is struggling to manage the chronic disease and mental health burden, the need to create fundamental changes is now not just something many people would like, it’s essential to our very survival. Behind the backdrop of an ever-more ravaged, taxpayer-funded UK National Health Service (NHS) that is close to bankruptcy and a just-published House of Lords select committee report, we look at how this healthcare revolution at least in the UK might occur.

If Big Food continues to feed us foods that make us sick and kill us, albeit slowly, as a society we’ll never be able to fix the health problems of future generations. If governments respond with token gestures from their own panels of selected ‘experts’, there’ll be more talking shops and no fundamental change. With a focus on the ongoing ‘sugar wars’, and a just-published Public Health England report and associated, partially misguided UK government anti-sugar campaign, we look more closely at what is and isn’t being done to kerb children’s addiction to sugar and refined carbs.

2017 is definitely time for big change – and we look forward to working with you during the course of the year to help create a fundamental shift away from the Big Food and Pharma models that are now responsible for making the majority of our adult society ill and unnecessarily dependent on drugs.

Happy reading and sharing.

In health, naturally
