Dear IMVA,
The journey started in Juneof 2003, whenmy third child was born. For over a year I researched and wrote about vaccines but since the beginning, mercury was there, a trail to follow. In June of this year I began to read essays from Dr. Boyd Haley on dental amalgam and finally have been writing on that theses past six weeks. Simply astonishing to find our trusted dentists around the world installing a ton or two of mercury in peoples mouths each and every day. Recently with the help of Claudia French, a RN from Florida acting as a research assistant, I have come to the end of the mercury trail and have found:
In the 21st century medicine will have to restructure
to a paradigm that puts toxicity in the place of first cause.
EPA experts acknowledge that there are tools available today that can measure the toxic dangers in any locality, which can dramatically improve decisions on where people can safely live, work, go to school or play. What no one has communicated bluntly is that those safe places have become extinct leaving us and our children with no safe place, no heaven from a chemical onslaught that will only get worse with each passing year. It is now accurate, scientific and medically sound to state that we are poisoning every man, woman and child on earth. We have reached a milestone in human history. Awaiting each and every child born on the planet is a life doomed to being poisoned. There is “overwhelming evidence that every child, no matter where in the world he or she is born, will be exposed, not only from birth, but from conception, to man-made chemicals that can undermine the child's ability to reach its fullest potential -- chemicals that interfere with the natural chemicals that tell tissues how to develop and construct healthy, whole individuals according to the genes they inherited from their mothers and fathers,” says Dr. Theo Colborn, Senior Program Scientist, at the World Wildlife Fund.
As our knowledge about the etiology of disease progresses,
the evidence for environmental contributions to disease grows.
Physicians for Social Responsibility
Researchers from all over the globe are posting information about the chemical hazard that sits like a background radiation cloud across our once pristine planet. Chemical radioactivity is an appropriate phrase to describe what the situation is with mercury and other chemicals that are causing disease rates to sore through the stratosphere. And what has already arrived gets worse with the hundreds of millions of tons of toxic chemicals that get produced and added to the human biosphere each year. Everyone now has to live and breathe in the context of a dangerous chemical cloud with radioactive like fallout that penetrates our human skin. Having failed to destroy ourselves with radioactive clouds from atomic bombs we have managed to muddle through and threaten ourselves through chemical means. Mercury pollution specifically is a principle threat that, similar to radioactive substances after an atomic war, is penetrating through everything. In fact, the FDA itself says, “Mercury is everywhere!”[i]
Dr. Colborn informs us that from across the board we are hearing that contaminants are derailing children's ability to think, to remember, that their temperaments are being affected so that they don't smile or laugh as much. Children are expressing more fear and are difficult to soothe or calm down under unpleasant situations, suggesting that man-made chemicals can control how our children develop in unexpected ways. Certainly all of these factors come together and explode in children with autistic syndromes. Doctors and patients alike need to be well advised that all efforts to derail the monumental chemical buildup have failed and thus people will increasingly be showing the direct effects in their signs and symptoms. New health and healing strategies need to be designed in the Age of Chemical Pollution that puts toxicity in the place of first cause, meaning it's the first thing doctors and alternative health care practitioners need to think of, diagnose and treat no matter what the presenting disorder is. Toxicity has now become the great common denominator of chronic disease and, as we shall see, low level mercury toxicity contributes significantly to acute disorders like influenza[ii] creating the complications that increase both the severity off the illness and raises the death rate. Thus flu vaccines with thimerosal/mercury used as preservative is feeding the fire not preventing it.
Dr. Colborn just alights on the edge of a tragedy of inconceivable proportion. On one end she depicts children smiling and laughing less and on the other end Dr. Kasarskis et al found significantly elevated levels of mercury in brain, blood cells, and serum in ALS patients.[iii] We are going to see that mercury (and a background chemical pollution of many other chemicals that just makes mercury more toxic and more difficult to eliminate) is directly involved in the etiology of most of the major disorders that are facing humanity, even diabetes, which is itself spiraling out of control.
About 140,000 Australians have type 1 diabetes. It has increased 37 per cent in the past 10 years, and in the past five years the number of children under five diagnosed has more than doubled. [iv] 12.1 million people in the U.S. in 2002 have been diagnosed with diabetes. This estimate of the magnitude of the diabetic population represents an increase of 1 million (9%) from year 2000 estimates and an increase of 1.8 million (17%) from year 1997 estimates.
The picture isn't complete yet but all indications are pointing to a catastrophic medical disaster with these kinds of percentage increases happening all over the medical board. In several states in the US the ten year rate of increase for autism was over 10,000 percent with the mean national average coming to a 1,000 percent increase. The weight of evidence based on the findings of wildlife biologists, toxicologists, and epidemiologists clearly indicates that the world's populations are being exposed to a host of chemical contaminants that have recently passed over an invisible barrier and is now more dangerous and more threatening than any combination of viruses. Chronic disease is the number one killer in the United States, accounting for about four out of five deaths in America each year. According to the Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) about 100 million Americans, more than one-third of the population, suffer from some form of chronic disease like asthma, diabetes, cancer, heart and kidney disease or arthritis. Cancer is the second leading cause of death, exceeded only by heart disease. Among children ages 1 to 14, cancer is now the leading cause of death by disease. At current rates, invasive cancer will be diagnosed in half of all men and in one in three women in their lifetime.More than 1.3 million new cases of invasive cancer will be diagnosed in 2005 meaning that approximately 1,500 Americans will die of the disease everyday. “Whether it is cancer or autism that is affecting our families and showing up in our examination rooms, the growing rates of chronic disease compel us to search for clues and answers to determine the true causes of these increasingly prevalent illnesses,” says the PSR.
Almost 100 percent of these people are suffering
from chemical poisoning with mercury poisoning taking
the lead in breaking through our biological defenses.
This is just the very beginning of Mercury Rising, a book about the rising tide of mercury that is lapping against all of our shores. This latest statistical information from the PSR is what I have been looking for and this is just the beginning phase of a massive poisoning effect that is going to hit the human race harder than any virus, harder than global warming and much sooner then rising seas.
As in most things, where America is now the rest of the world is heading. But when it comes to mercury its like radioactivity after a nuclear war. It spreads out into the atmosphere and in the oceans where it just begins to become toxic through a process of methylation. Radioactivity tends with many years to lowerin toxicity but mercury runs up the hill to more toxic levels with the help of fish, mammals and bacteria. Fish can concentrate mercury in the water by a factor of a million. The FDA estimated at the end of the last century that being put into the air from all man made sources was 2 to 3 thousand tons of mercury a year. Add easily 500 tons put directly into peoples' mouths and you have a lot of mercury for humans to deal with. Then mix some with aluminum and inject it in children and one would think one was talking about some alien race of hateful beings whose main practice and joy in life was poisoning its young and old alike.
These are just some thoughts to share with you after over a month away from the helm of the IMVA. I am writing at a frantic pace these days and will start to share some of what I am coming up with. I need some input on comparative toxicity and would like to put together a Richtor Scale of toxicity. Specifically if anyone has some good information on the difference between plutonium and organic mercury please forward to me.
The human race is heading into a nightmare that will demand incredible service from primary healthcare practitioners who will either make matters worse by further poisoning their patients or will help tremendously through a dedication to detoxification and chelation through both natural and medical means. The key to survival in the 21st century will be elimination since there is little to do about absorbing toxic chemicals, except of course to stay away from dentists and doctors who cannot resist using mercury and other dangerous chemicals.
