BigCo’s double challenge: sustainability and distrust
I've just returned from 2 days in Geneva listening to how pharma, governments and the WHO plan to deal with the inescapable wall that health care systems are racing towards. They're belatedly jumping on board with the idea of sustainability (for decades the life blood of the environmental and natural health movement) and I hope my report gives you some idea of where they're at (possibly not as far as you might imagine...)
Our second piece looks at the background behind the tragic deaths of two people after eating from global food retailer Pret a Manger. The globalisation of our food supply and opacity of supply chains means such tragedies, but also lesser allergic reactions, sensitivities and intolerances, will become more and more common. What should we do?
Check out our news too. This week it's about a Brexit No-Deal consultation (with which we'll be engaging), nutrition science once again on the ropes (courtesy of Prof Wansink), Australia's claim that its HPV programme will eliminate cervical cancer - sugar, cancer and the NHS - and more still.
In health, naturally, sustainably and with trust...
