View this email in your browser     No. 267 | 16 September 2015         e-ALERT     Twin time bombs           Standing up and saying your piece, one that rings true to you based on your life experience and hard-earned knowledge, is the start of any individual’s self-determination. Today, we profile two controversial figures who are doing just that. One is Cochrane’s Prof Peter Gøtzsche who is railing headlong into the psychiatric establishment. The other is the newly appointed, controversial British Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn. Not everyone is going to like what either of these people stand for – and many will feel they have very good reasons to oppose some if not all of their positions. But the point is, both have important sectors of support, that’s why they are being heard. Regardless of their fate or their effect, that’s good news for democracies in which freedom of speech is valued. For anyone who has been in a place of political apathy (not just in the party political sense), possibly because of sense of disillusionment or disempowerment, this a particularly good and relevant time to awaken. Let’s all wake up, think carefully and act intelligently. Together we can all make a big difference. One more thing, the Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the completion of the important documentary The Seeds of Vandana Shiva ends in 3 days! The film, about the work of one of the world’s great sustainability pioneers and anti-GM proponents, is strongly aligned with our mission at ANH-Intl.
