In recent years there has been a massive escalation of government efforts to control every aspect of natural health. The guidelines set by the UN's Codex Alimentarius Commission have worked consistently to restrict the use of food/dietary supplements and traditional herbal remedies. Combined with attempts of the orthodox medical establishment to quash evidence of the benefits of complementary and alternative therapies, the survival of some of the great traditional medicinal cultures, such as Ayurveda, Unani and Traditional Chinese Medicine is now endangered. Dr Verkerk will explain how the Alliance for Natural Health is working to offset these challenges.
