  • A global commission of 56 experts publishing in The Lancet, endorsed by 76 medical organisations, is proposing that ‘diagnosis’ of obesity is redefined, as it acknowledges the use of Body Mass Index (BMI) to indicate whether someone is obese, is no longer fit for purpose. The new framework introduces two categories of obesity: 'clinical obesity'—excess body fat impairing health—and 'pre-clinical obesity'—excess fat without current illness but posing future health risks. At ANH we’ve long advocated for the use of BMI to be discontinued in favour of the waist to height ratio (WHtR), which has consistently been shown to be a far more accurate measure of body size.

  • A heavily-funded PR campaign is building in an effort to tarnish Robert F Kennedy Jr's chances of being confirmed by the US Senate as US Health Secretary within the incoming Trump Administration. According to Politico, the “Stop RFK War Room” initiative is pouring more than $1 million USD into persuading politicians to reject his nomination. While in a letter posted online by the Committee to Protect Health Care, more than 17,000 doctors are also calling for RFK Jr's nomination to be rejected, saying he is “unfit to lead” and is “actively dangerous”. This PR campaign is deliberately twisting many of RFK Jr's positions on food, drug and public health issues and ANH-USA is proactively involved, in collaboration with other organisations and individuals, in a sponsored counter-campaign, including the promotion of Rob Verkerk and Jonathan Emord's new book, The MAHA Mandate: Reversing America's Chronic Disease Crisis.

  • The US National Toxicology Program (NTP) has published a systematic review and meta-analysis in JAMA Pediatrics reinforcing findings in its recent report, that fluoride exposure is neurotoxic and can affect children’s IQ. Notably, even exposures below 1.5 mg/L were found to be associated with IQ reductions. Fluoride Alert has more
  • Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) programmes are as effective as a common antidepressant in reducing anxiety symptoms, according to a new study published in the North American Journal of Medical Sciences. The findings reinforce the use of mindfulness techniques as a viable natural alternative to drug treatment for anxiety disorders
  • Recent research published in Nature Medicine has looked into 3 time-restricted eating (TRE) windows for weight loss—early, late and random. Findings have shown that early intermittent fasting, specifically not eating from 5 pm to 9 am, aids weight loss and enhances cardiovascular health in obese individuals. This early fasting method, also improves blood sugar regulation and reduces subcutaneous (under the skin) abdominal fat, appears particularly helpful in regulating obese people's metabolism, reducing their weight and ultimately, improving their overall health and wellbeing.

  • Adopting a Mediterranean-style, plant-rich diet, may improve brain function by altering our gut microbiota. A Tulane University rat study published in Gut Microbes Reports, showed that rats fed a Mediterranean-style diet experienced increased beneficial gut bacteria, along with improved memory, cognitive flexibility, and working memory compared to those fed a Western style diet.

  • One of the reasons a Mediterranean-style diet, high in plant foods, is so good for us is due to the fibre content of the plants. A new study published in Nature Microbiology reinforces what nutrition practitioners have known for decades, that fibre feeds beneficial microbes in the gut that produce short-chain fatty acids, which in turn helps to inhibit harmful microbes and reduce the risk of infections due to the overgrowth of pathogenic microbes in the gut.

  • The theory that Alzheimer’s Disease may be an autoimmune reaction has been reinforced by a new study published in Cell Reports. The researchers found that viral proteins that enter the brain trigger the development of tau protein, a key indicator of Alzheimer’s, as the immune system attempts to protect the brain from the infection. However, the subsequent build-up of tau proteins in the brain increases the risk of actually developing Alzheimer’s disease.

  • Concerns have been raised over continued experimentation with GM mosquitoes. Researchers continue to attempt to create a defence against malaria, using mosquitoes to ‘inject’ genetically modified malaria parasites into humans. The Defender has the full horror story as researchers plough on seemingly oblivious to the very real dangers of such creations and the violation of informed consent
  • A recent investigation by the Forever Pollution Project, exposes the lobbying and disinformation campaign orchestrated by the chemical and plastic industry in its attempts to prevent the banning of ‘forever chemicals’. The report also estimates that cleaning up PFAS pollution in the UK and Europe alone, could cost over £1.6 trillion over 20 years, averaging £84 billion annually, if nothing is done to curtail the ongoing production and use of these highly toxic substances.

  • Concerns over the safety of health data, now one of the world’s most valuable commodities, in the UK are growing as the new government openly touts the selling of ‘anonymised’ health data from the NHS's huge repository, to the highest bidders to help develop new treatments, drugs and diagnostic tools. This is the perfect opportunity to promote the use of NHS data to empower individuals to take control of their own health, using personalised, natural health recommendations, to promote true upstream prevention over drug treatments that come with costly adverse reactions.

  • The more covid shots you receive, the higher your likelihood of contracting covid. A new Japanese study published in Cureus, blows the continued exhortations from health authorities that covid ‘vaccines’ are safe and effective out of the water, with its findings that multiple doses of covid shots doubles the risk of covid infection. Joel Smalley dives into the study on his Substack
  • Covid mRNA ‘vaccines’ don’t stay in the muscles of the arm. A new mouse study, using a new technique to study the spread of the nanoparticles, published in Nature Biotechnology, has confirmed the lipid nanoparticles used in the shots spread through the whole body. The findings give rise to further concerns of potential autoimmune activity, heart and blood vessel damage. Nicholas Hulscher has more on the Courageous Discourse Substack.
