Natural News

  • The push to create new customers for pharma, took a sinister turn in 2012 when recommendations to test children’s cholesterol levels were made by the US National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. A new Viewpoint published in JAMA Pediatrics discusses low screening rates of kids, seen by some, as a missed opportunity to treat cholesterol issues ever earlier in life. It acknowledges that low take up of such screening indicates it’s not appropriate and reflects both doctors’ and parents’ concerns about inappropriate testing and treatments, which could lead to kids being treated for conditions that may never actually harm them.

  • The UK's Food Standards Agency (FSA) is moving towards a 'zero detectable' THC policy for CBD products, claiming it would enhance consumer safety. This shift could lead to stricter regulations, potentially increasing production costs and impacting product availability. Consumers may benefit from clearer product information and legal assurance, but those preferring full-spectrum CBD might find fewer options. An upcoming eight-week consultation will allow industry stakeholders to voice their concerns and help shape the future of CBD regulation in the UK
  • An environmental group, Tucson Environmental Justice Task Force, has filed a lawsuit against the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), alleging the agency has failed to regulate toxic PFAS chemicals in food. The lawsuit claims the FDA has the tools to set limits on PFAS in items like blueberries, lettuce, milk, and salmon but hasn't taken action. The group is seeking enforceable limits to protect public health from these harmful substances
  • Meanwhile in France, the French Parliament has approved a bill to ban the use of PFAS chemicals in a range of everyday goods including cosmetics, ski wax and clothing.

  • High exposure to multiple pesticides may significantly increase the risk of childhood cancers, particularly brain and central nervous system tumours. New research, published in GeoHealth found that a 10% rise in pesticide mixtures correlates with a 36% increase in these cancers among children. This underscores the need for evaluating combined chemical exposures to protect children's health
  • The dangers of commercial, agricultural and industrial chemicals along with food additives are highlighted in a new study published in the American Journal of Physiology-Endocrinology and Metabolism. The researchers found that such toxins can damage the gut microbiome leading to inflammation and leaky gut, which in turn, allows toxic substances to enter the bloodstream
  • Ginger is well known for its anti-inflammatory properties and ability to calm an upset digestive system. A new mouse study published in Nature Communications has found a specific compound, known as furanodienone (FDN), in ginger that can reduce the production of compounds that create inflammation in the gut. Yet again, the isolation of the compound is being eyed up for its potential to provide a treatment for irritable bowel disease (IBD)
  • More and more companies are using sugar alternatives in their products for 'health reasons'. We’re constantly reassured that they’re safe for consumption, despite mounting evidence to show otherwise. Another new mouse study, published in Cell Metabolism, raises further concerns about the effects of aspartame as it finds that the sweetener tricks the body into releasing insulin, something we’ve repeatedly been told that sweeteners don’t do, thereby increasing the risk of insulin resistance and variety of chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Despite the mounting concerns around the safety of aspartame, the sweetener industry and food manufacturers continue to push back against calls to ban its use.

  • The UK Government, has published the secondary legislation needed to implement the Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Act 2023. This would see the introduction of patented genetically engineered plants such as higher yielding strawberries with longer shelf life; potatoes that require two thirds less farmland; tomatoes bred for robotic harvesting to reduce labour requirements and to make vitamin D; oilseed crops that produce Omega-3 oils, along with the unregulated introduction of gene edited animals that don’t exist in nature. The legislation will open a massive back door to agritech companies without legislative oversight, regulation or safety checks under the premise that such alterations are the same as mutations that happen naturally due to evolutionary pressures
  • On the 23rd February a closed door conference of researchers working in the biotech industry took place in the US at Asilomar. It's sole purpose to hype the use of biotechnology, not ehnacing public safety. Jonathan Latham has full details of the conference and why we should be concerned about the dealings of the biotech industry behind doors closed to all bar its inner circle.

ANH-USA Update

  • ANH has long fought censorship that suppresses natural health information and people’s ability to make informed decisions about how they maintain their health and wellbeing. As the Trump administration’s DOGE department continues to expose the corruption of government in the US, the ANH-USA team demand accountability from the new Administration given its promises to restore free speech, whilst at the same time, promoting AI systems that could result in the continued suppression of free speech. • A powerful new documentary, Unpacking the Lies We’ve Been Fed, featuring Rob Verkerk PhD and Jonathan Emord JD, exposes the truth about America’s chronic disease epidemic and those responsible for the continuation of the processes driving it. Find out more and watch the film
  • Pesticide giants in the US, led by Bayer/Monsanto, are seeking immunity from prosecution for harms caused by their products by introducing laws that would block people from bringing lawsuits. Oppose liability protections for pesticide companies
  • The team marks the sad passing of Michael McGuffin, president of the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) and ANH friend. A giant of the natural health industry his sage wisdom and presence will be sorely missed. Read more

Free Speech Controls

  • The UK’s Counter Disinformation Unit, now rebranded as the National Security Online Information Team is continuing the work that it started during covid, as it builds an AI programme to identify “concerning” posts on social media – so it can step in and “take action”. The system will allegedly identify media that’s deemed to pose a threat to national security and public safety risk, which, once introduced, could potentially be used to usher in a more draconian policing system of social media platforms
  • Notorious Brazilian judge, Alexandre de Moraes, has struck again as he issued a ruling banning the video-sharing platform, Rumble in Brazil after Rumble refused to kowtow to his legal directives. A Florida court has now ruled that Rumble doesn’t need to comply with the order
  • Work continues to hammer out a Pandemic Accord. The thirteenth meeting of the INB ended without resolution. Despite there being just 5 days left in April, for negotiations to conclude, negotiators continue to assert that a deal will be concluded
  • Apple has removed a key data protection feature, Advanced Data Protection (ADP), from users in the UK, after the UK government demanded it create a backdoor to access Apple users private data. Such a move could have wider implications for Apple’s encryption service worldwide as it would weaken user protections and leave customers open to hacking and fraud attacks.

Covid News

  • A recent editorial in Science, Public Health Policy & the Law calls for an immediate re-evaluation of covid vaccination policies for pregnant women. The article highlights significant safety concerns, including increased reports of miscarriage, foetal malformations, and stillbirths associated with the vaccine. The author urges health organisations to reassess their recommendations to protect maternal and foetal health
  • A new study supports the concerns about the use of mRNA vaccines in pregnancy, as it confirms that mRNA vaccines can cross the placenta. The mouse study, published in Molecular Therapy Nucleic Acids, found that the mRNA vaccine passed through the placenta within an hour of administration and persisted in the blood and tissue, mainly the liver, of the pups for at least three weeks after birth. The vaccine mRNA also triggered the pups to produce spike protein. The Defender has more about the dangers posed by mRNA vaccines used in pregnancy
  • In a recent interview, Dr Paul Offit disclosed that the Biden administration was aware that natural immunity offered protection against severe covid infection. However, during the implementation of vaccine mandates, the administration chose not to make allowances for prior infections, citing logistical challenges in verifying natural immunity. This decision led to the introduction of vaccine mandates, which ignored individuals with existing immunity from previous infections
  • A new preprint study describes a ‘new’ condition in those who’ve experienced health issues following covid vaccination. Those with “post-vaccine syndrome” have experienced damage to their immune system, with some being found to still be producing spike protein 2 years following vaccination. The study gives yet more credence to all those who raised warnings about the harmful effects of mRNA vaccines during the covid crisis. Alex Berenson dives into the study and what it means
  • Media reports are warning of a new, supposedly, deadlier coronavirus, dubbed HKU-CoV-2, which could spread to humans, as efforts to get the WHO pandemic treaty over the line ramp up. However, the virus has been ‘found’ by researchers at the same lab in Wuhan, China that’s suspected of leaking the SARS-CoV-2 virus
  • The European Commission has approved the use of a self-amplifying mRNA covid vaccine (Sa-mRNA) for people over the age of 18.
