We're 21 years on from learning that our brains can make new brain cells and thus regenerate. Yet people are still developing Alzheimer's disease and dementia at alarming rates in the developed world. These, like type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, are largely preventable with the right diet and lifestyle interventions and it's a travesty that the information isn't common knowledge in every household, school and doctors surgery.
Below you'll find the first in our three part 'health hack' series on sleep. We're creating 3 videos for you on sleep because sleep is such a game-changer when it comes to brain health - and health generally. You can regenerate your brain, you can grow new brain cells and you can vastly reduce your risk of developing a cognitive disease by following some simple lifestyle hacks.
If your brain is tired for a prolonged period, you will suffer impaired brain function, you'll have more difficulty problem-solving, you'll have poor memory and hormone balance, and a reduced adaptive response to stress.
We hope our new video series sets you back on the path to deep, restful, brain-regenerating sleep.
Stay tuned for part two next week, and part three the week after...
