ANH breaks new ground at the European Social Forum

The ANH is one of eight European organisations breaking new ground at the European Social Forum (ESF), in Malmo, Sweden (17—21 Sept 2008) to become a voice for change for the natural health industry.  For the first time, the ESF is hosting a Natural Health Forum so as to give a voice to the social and human rights issues arising from the restrictive European legislative approach towards natural health.

ANH submits two petitions to the European Parliament

Food supplements and mobile phones seem unlikely bed partners. But the contrasting way in which risks from each is being managed in the EU would seem to suggest that something is not right—and perhaps consumer protection is a lesser priority than often claimed. The ANH appeals to the European Parliament in a bid to use the democratic process in the public interest.

Vitamin D: as close to a magic bullet as you can get?

A new study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine shows that a deficiency of circulating vitamin D levels in the blood is strongly linked to increased risk of death from heart disease.  The evidence supporting vitamin D against heart disease and cancer is now unequivocal—but regulators are still keen to restrict our intake.

US Cancer chief sees cell phone risks
