Lab-grown vs pasture-reared meat
This week we’re tackling one of the biggest issues of our time. Are you happy to walk away from a rural landscape populated with livestock, and get your protein, assuming you’re not vegan or vegetarian, from lab-grown meat analogues? I’ve written an editorial piece on this thorny and complex subject, triggered by a recently published report by a US think tank that predicts traditional livestock and dairy farming will collapse by 2030, a short 13 years away. In our second piece, I interview a farmer, who’s keen to defend traditional farming. We’d love to hear your view as comments below each article. In our news updates, you’ll be linked through to Jerome Burne’s article about London’s Health Optimisation Summit at which we presented the weekend before last, a report that claims poor diets are the primary cause of ill health, gene-edited animals, Nutraingredient’s clean food webinar, a philanthropist’s campaign to expose the risks of vaping, and why c-section babies have different gut microbiomes to naturally-birthed ones, populated by hospital-sourced bacteria. Please dive in, share and comment. In health, naturally (of course)
