Tolerance, soil and toxins
Welcome to August! We kick the month off with my introduction to our Tailoring Tolerance series for the month, where we’ll be looking at ways of regaining tolerance just at a point when it’s apparent so many human bodies, minds, even spirits, and definitely the natural environment, are being pushed to the absolute limits. Learning to balance tolerance and sensitivity is what total health is all about—but it’s not something you’re likely to learn from your doctor given the typical med school curriculum.
We’re also excited to tell you how you can become a soil health advocate following our appointment as an ambassador to help democratise the ground-breaking (literally), award-winning (17 awards and counting), Dutch documentary film, Planet Soil. The film, directed by none other than my brother, multi-award-winning film director, Mark Verkerk, is a unique vehicle to help support the regenerative farming movement. One that is being increasingly ostracised by the Big Food, Big Ag and Big Chem and Biotech lobbies who will do anything to avoid attention being taken away from their intensive farming methods, chemicals and genomic technologies.
Before you dive into the news, there’s also my Speaking Naturally interview with leading British integrative doctor, Dr Jenny Goodman, about her latest book, Getting Healthy in Toxic Times, set to become a bestseller like her first. We’d strongly recommend the book, but in the interview Jenny drops in plenty of hacks that will help you cope much better with the increasing load of toxins that engulf us.
