View this email in your browser     ANH-Intl eAlert No 354 | 31 May 2017         e-ALERT     Awareness: the precursor of change           This week we look at two contrasting themes: one is the manufactured taboo of vaccine injury, the other, the EU-wide bans on companies telling potential customers about the beneficial properties of their foods or supplements under the pretext of a badly structured EU law. Dark subjects they might seem, but there is light in both. With increasing recognition of the health claims fiasco called the EU Nutrition and Health Claims Regulation, the Commission announced its intention to review the law in 2015. We’ve been publicising the 2-month open public consultation since it was launched in March. But now, all EU citizens – and presently that includes those in the UK – have just 24 hours in which to complete the online survey. We offer you guidance to help you.  If you haven’t done so already – here’s your chance to tell the European Commission what you think about one of the most controversial laws to emerge from Brussels. In our second piece, we’ve put together a collage of information, infographics and videos to raise awareness of vaccine injuries – given that this Saturday (3rd June) is International Vaccine Injury Awareness Day. With more and more countries pressing on with mandatory vaccination, it’s essential we work together at a grassroots level to break the taboo about vaccine injury – rather than pretending as so many health authorities currently do that it doesn't happen. It’s a very real phenomenon, and like motor vehicle-related injuries and deaths – the better understood it is, the greater the likelihood of informed consent and the lower the rate of vaccine injury. In our weekly news roundup, you’ll find out about moves in Germany to mandate vaccination, how the EU is planning to re-register use of glyphosate for another decade, how the Chinese government is responding to public rejection of GMO foods – and more!
